Each piece of jewelry in this collection is based on the native sea life of the Hawaiian Islands. Some of the most popular pieces include designs of the octopus, dolphins, sea turtles, starfish, sand dollars, crabs, and seahorses.

Hi, I lived on off and on several years and recently moved back to the states but still visit oftern. They really do have some great deals on diamonds, and all other jewelry in fact. The best stores are Cardow, Diamond International, Beverly's, and Columbian Emeralds. There are literally a thousand small shops dotting the island, so it is best to stick to these, or similar 'branded' stores to ensure best quality. Do not be afraid to haggle on the jewelry, almost every store will give much better priced than first presented. They will not let you leave the store if you are serious.
Little secret, make your purchases after the ships have already left if possible. Make sure that they know you are not a ship passenger, if you are not. They do not give as good of deals to cruisers as hotel guests, because they are about 6000 people coming right behind them. The quality of merchandise at these stores are great, much better then a Zales or Kay's or Service Merchandise, those types. Shop around, dont buy the first thing you see. Check out Bernard K Passmans Gallery downtown St.
Thomas, they have some very amazing and unique pieces of jewelry. My friend lives there and I have been down several times. I purchased black diamonds and blue diamonds along with other items. I purchased a reversible ring at Cardows about 2 years ago and love it.
A small diamond fell out and I took it with on my next trip and they fixed it for free without any hassle. I like to get pieces that cannot be found in the states. I shop at Cardow's, Colombian Emeralds, Touch of Gold and Glitters in Havensight.
The prices are so great. For example my last purchase was at Glitters in 6/04 a 3.15 ct black & white diamond bracelet in 14kt white gold, I think it was listed for $3,000 odd dollars, I walked away with it for $1025.00. It is stunning and I have never seen anything like it.
Also remember you do not pay tax. Since going there, I have yet to buy jewerly in the states. Plus you can go on the website and order online with them as well. Have a great time in! I love it there!
We are avid cruisers and have been to many times. Yes - you can get great deals on diamonds - but you need to be careful where you shop. Stay on the main street.
The larger stores are all reputable. Diamonds Internatioal is the 3,000 lb. Gorilla in the and you will find their stores everywhere. I have personally found the store on to be more competitive than those on St.
If you buy something from or their sister stores Tanzanite International, save your receipt. If you come back even years later with the receipt and want to exchange your purchase for something nicer, you can do so without question. They will always let you upgrade. We have also shopped frequently at Imperial Jewelers and have had the same friendly, ethical dealings as a previous author said.
Every time we purchased something, it appraised far higher at our local jeweler back home.Have fun shopping, but do your research on diamonds first so you know what quality you are getting. I worked in the jewelry business 30 odd years ago. I was in last week. Yes, their prices are low, but you get what you pay for!!
The diamonds I examined were mediocre quality, but they were labeled correctly. KNOW THE CODES!!' I' means imperfect. If you don't mind, go ahead, but if you want top quality, go to your jeweler back home. Most of the prices I saw were phoney - jacked up to make the purchaser think he was getting a steal.
Don't be greedy. Decide what you want to pay, and then stick to it.
Have them weigh the gold pieces. Talk to your friendly pawnbroker to find out what HE pays for gold. Thomas jewelers HATE it when you ask them to weigh any pieces.) OK, I bought a gorgious gold necklace. I paid about what it was worth. I couldn't have found it in the states, and it's a lovely souvenier. The variety there is wonderful, and I must have gone to 30 shops, which ofter come with pitch-men on the sidewalk telling you they sell wholesale (BS!!!!).
I liked Liberty Jewelers in Drakes Passage.PS-Prices fall around 4:00 PM when the ships get ready to sail! Diamond earrings should be OK, but check with your jeweler back home before you go. My wife and I have traveled to 5 or 6 times over the last ten years and always enjoy our shopping experience at the wonderful quaint, jewelry shops downtown. Our most favorable experience has been at a shop called Imperial Jewelers. The gentleman, Nick, has taken very good care of us when we have shopped his store. In fact, my wife called him prior to our last trip and told him what she was looking for.
He had several beautiful pieces of jewelry already picked out for us to look over. He even takes trade ins of our previous purchases from him. I think you would really enjoy doing business with this fine store.
We will go back to see them again on our next trip in the not to distance future.
